This talk will include an introduction to the KMDMP collection and an overview of the tools and resources created to facilitate community participation in the project along with an invitation to join the International Kiselgof Community Digitizathon, January 16-17, 2021. This project envisions a radically different way of presenting archival materials that uses digital tools to make the primary sources available to all at the beginning of the project rather than at the end via a curated, edited exhibition or other artistic creation. Christina Crowder will talk about both the known risks and the already-discovered rewards of taking this approach, and give an insider’s view about how the project came together. We’ll talk about what we hope to learn from this project and some of the ways we hope to continue to build community through this project.
