Meaning “come sit,” a kumzits is a fun, participatory event for all ages at which every person does something for 2-5 minutes: tells a Jewish joke or story, sings (or leads) a Yiddish song, plays a klezmer or Yiddish tune, recites a Yiddish poem, etc. We go around once or twice. Everyone participates!
Join us for our first kumzits in Oakland, at a private home. Address (near Telegraph Ave and Alcatraz Ave) will be provided when you RSVP to nu@klezcalifornia.org. $5 donation requested. Refreshments provided.
This event is oversubscribed, with a waiting list. Sometimes people cancel, so RSVP if you are interested.
