Beginning October 2, the Cantors Assembly will be presenting the first-ever Moishe Oysher Virtual Film Festival, featuring restored versions of five films with complete English subtitles by the National Center for Jewish Film. The centerpieces of the festival are the three Yiddish films starring cantorial great, recording artist, and star of the Yiddish stage, Moishe Oysher, but will also include Oysher’s only English-language film, as well as Dream of My People, a travelogue of Israel featuring the final performance of Joseph “Yossele” Rosenblatt

Nov 6-7, 2022: The Singing Blacksmith
Dec 4-5, 2022: The Cantor’s Son
Feb 5-6, 2023: Singing in the Dark
April 2-3, 2023: Yossele Rosenblatt’s Dream of My People
Each film will be presented online monthly and can be accessed via special codes that will be released in advance of each presentation. Each film will be available online for 36 hours followed by group discussion on Mondays at 8pm ET.
