The Workers Circle has turned their five out-of-print comprehensive Yiddish songbooks into an online collection, The Yosl and Chana Mlotek Yiddish Song Collection at the Workers Circle. The Collection provides a readily searchable, online database of over 400 Yiddish songs with lyrics, English translations, transliterations, and sheet music. Viewers can read the songs’ historical context, listen to original recordings by luminaries of Yiddish theater and concert stages, and enjoy new song interpretations by contemporary performers.
The pages will go live 3/20/23 somewhere on the site https://www.circle.org/
Three of the songbooks were known as the “blue book,” “red book,” and “purple book” and are listed on this website because used copies might still be available.
