Chanukah, Oy Chanukah concert and celebration

Two Tribes and vocalist Lois Pearlman invite the community to their third annual “Chanukah Oy Chanukah,” a Yiddish concert and holiday celebration.
 
They will perform oldies but goodies, as well as more contemporary tunes, in Yiddish, English and Ladino, plus instrumental songs.
 
This free event will take place Friday, Dec. 27, 7 to 9 p.m., at Books and Letters, 14045 Armstrong Woods Road, Guerneville.
 
Following the concert there will be holiday noshes (treats) and time to kibits (chitchat) with friends old and new.
 
Laurie Lippin began playing the accordion as a child, then put it aside until she discovered klezmer music.  It spoke to her Jewish soul and she hasn’t stopped playing it since. Chris Eccles, who hails from Ireland, loves playing klezmer, and also performs Celtic, and bluegrass with Muleskinner Stomp. Lois Pearlman, best known as an actress with local theater companies, has found a new part of herself singing music of the Jewish diaspora.
