Conversation with Irena Klepfisz, Naomi Newman, Bruce Bierman

Join this free online program with poet Irena Klepfisz (NY), playwright/actor Naomi Newman, and director Bruce Bierman, who will talk about translating poetry from “page to stage” for the upcoming production of “Between Worlds.”

Irena will talk about her new collection of poetry, “Her Birth and Later Years: New and Collected Poems, 1971-2021” (Wesleyan University Press) and offer readings from her work and personal history. Find out how the playwright and director are finding ways to interpret Irena’s poems and themes through character, live music and staging. This new play produced by Yiddish Theatre Ensemble opens August 16029 at Live Oak Theatre, Berkeley.
