Jewish Music and Stories from Around the World

House concert with the amazing Asaf Ophir and David McLean of the Levoná World Music Ensemble (levona.org) on Sunday, February 23, 7-9pm, with admission of $15-20 cash at the door. We’ll be treated to an evening of Jewish world stories and music, including klezmer, Ladino and Hebrew. Space is extremely limited. RSVP required to amnon.goodman@gmail.com.

Asaf Ophir, clarinetist and flautist, is the son of an Israeli film composer. Hailed for his passionate and versatile tone, Asaf began his career in the national musical theaters of Israel, and eventually found a home in the Bay Area world music scene.

David McLean is one of the leading flamenco guitarists in the Bay Area. He has studied with renowned masters in Granada and Jerez de la Frontera, and participated in hundreds of local productions.
