KlezCalifornia June Kumzits ONLINE

Join KlezCalifornia for our fifth kumzits. This one was planned for Palo Alto, but because of COVID-19 has been moved online. Additional kumzitsn this summer are planned for July 12 and August 9.

Meaning “come sit,” a kumzits is a fun, participatory event for all ages at which every person does something for 2-5 minutes: tells a Jewish joke or story, sings (or leads) a Yiddish song, plays a klezmer or Yiddish tune, recites a Yiddish poem, etc. We go around once or twice. Everyone participates! No “passing”!

Kumzitsn are free, but we hope you will consider a donation of $15 sliding scale (i.e. whatever you can afford).

You are welcome to provide your own refreshments.

To reserve a space, RSVP using the form below. The event has a limit of 15 participants.

Those who have registered by Sunday 8am Pacific Time (10am Eastern Time, 3pm UK Time, 4pm most Europe, 5pm Israel) will receive sign-in by 9am Pacific Time that day. If you have not heard by then, write a.s.a.p. to nu@klezcalifornia.org. Please do not wait until just before the event begins to notice whether you have the sign-in info.

You are welcome to rsvp if you are committed to participating. If you register but are a “no show,” you might be depriving someone else of the opportunity to participate. To cancel a reservation, write nu@klezcalifornia.org.

If you are unable to register below, the event’s capacity has been reached. If you like, write nu@klezcalifornia.org and ask to be put on a waiting list. Specify which event you are writing about.
