20th Annual KlezmerQuerque Festival

Get ready for the 20th Annual KlezmerQuerque, presented by Nahalat Shalom in Albuquerque, New Mexico

Guest artists from across the U.S. will perform and teach live on Zoom including two musicians from the renowned Veretski Pass Klezmer trio and Jewish dance master Bruce Bierman. Albuquerque’s own klezmer trio Duke City Hora led by virtuoso klezmer clarinetist and founder of The Klezmatics Margot Leverett will play live for a dance party on Saturday night. Mark Rubin (a.k.a. Jew of Oklahoma) will perform Friday evening and teach a klezmer rhythm workshop on Sunday. Christina Crowder (accordion) of The Klezmer Institute will perform Friday evening and teach klezmer music on Sunday along with a behind-the-scenes peek at The Kiselgof-Makonovetsky Digital Manuscript Project. Local faves The Rebbe’s Orkestra-Klezmer & Judaic Band will also be featured along with Nahalat Shalom’s Community Klezmer Band & Alavados band with Rikud dancers & Maggidah (storyteller) Batya Podos. From 10-11am Sunday, join us for Yoga Shalom with Reb Cantor Lisa Levine. More guest artists are being confirmed and will be announced soon – keep checking the web site.

Sunday, 10am-5:15pm MST – Six workshop sessions 75-minutes each with 2-3 workshops per session to choose from!

Volunteers and Zoom Co-hosts are needed for KlezmerQuerque.
