Song of a Jewish Cowboy

The documentary short film follows the work of Scott Gerber, who embodies an unlikely mix of Yiddish and cowboy cultures, and learned Yiddish and progressive songs from his mother and grandmother. A descendant of the left-wing Petaluma chicken ranchers, Scott carries on both Yiddish and ranching traditions, and proudly works in agriculture. He frequently rides the range and sings cowboy and Yiddish songs at Sonoma County’s Simcha Sunday and a local Irish bar.
