The Joy of Jewish Music and Dance: Sephardic

Join the JCC East Bay for a monthly series celebrating “The Joy of Jewish Music and Dance!” Great for musicians, dancers, and enthusiasts to meet, shmooze, or simply to take in the beauty of these rich traditions. This session will feature Sephardic music led by Dror Sinai and Jaime Barsimantov. Sephardic dance will be led by Miriam Peretz. Bring your instruments and dancing shoes.

In the first hour, participants choose to learn music or dance technique and styles. In the second hour, participants all come together for a dance party focusing on the tunes and dances taught earlier. The third hour will be an informal music jam. Sheet music and reference recordings as available will be posted to the KlezCalifornia tune archive.

Ticket prices $25.00-$54.00 sliding scale. No one turned away for lack of funds. Kids are free. The event takes place at the JCC East Bay in Berkeley.
