Another Kind of Mother: A Musical Tribute to Adrienne Cooper, with the Jewish Folk Chorus of San Francisco

Adrienne Cooper, singer, musician, activist, and teacher, inspired audiences around the world with her riveting interpretations of Yiddish song. Her advocacy of Yiddish music was instrumental in the klezmer revival while her arts activism never left her social justice activism behind.

Offering insights into the sources and the vision that drove her many collaborations, The Jewish Folk Chorus of San Francisco will present a sample of Adrienne Cooper’s Yiddish song legacy, paying loving tribute to “a different kind of mother, mother of the 1980s klezmer-Yiddish song revival.
