Tsvelf far Ukraine, a fundraiser for humanitarian aid efforts in Ukraine

Building on the success of Yiddish New York’s 2021 Klezathon, Tsvelf (meaning “twelve”) is a 12-hr Yiddish Music and Spoken Word Concert held via Zoom featuring artists from around the world. Co-presented by dozens of organizations, the concert will feature klezmer, Yiddish song, poetry, and more, in an effort to raise funds for humanitarian aid in Ukraine.

All funds raised will go directly to humanitarian aid efforts in Ukraine. In lieu of a registration fee, we encourage attendees to donate directly to the NGO of their choosing, such as ones listed at https://klezmerinstitute.org/tsvelf/. The organizers and sponsors are hosting this event as a volunteer effort and we are asking artists to also donate their time to support this cause.

An enormous number of individuals and groups are performing! Californians performing will be Cookie Segelstein & Josh Horowitz, and
Yale Strom & Elizabeth Schwartz: Hot Pstromi. People performing whom you might have studied with in the last few years at KlezCalifornia workshops are Alicia Svigals, Deborah Strauss (with Cantor Jeff Warschauer), and Margot Leverett. The full performer list and schedule will be on the the event’s website soon (click on one of the event’s links).
