Ukraine Benefit Concert in Sonoma County

ALL TICKETS TO THIS EVENT HAVE NOW BEEN SOLD. YOU ARE WELCOME TO DONATE VIA THE JUBILEE KLEZMER WEBSITE. THE CONCERT IS NOT BEING STREAMED.

Berkeley-based Veretski Pass, Petaluma’s Jubilee Klezmer Ensemble, Łowiczanie Polish Folk Dance Ensemble (Resident Dance Company of the Polish Club in San Francisco), Kolyada Ukrainian Folk Choir, and Ukrainian violinist Igor Veligan will perform at 7pm on Saturday, May 7, at the First Presbyterian Church of Petaluma (939 B Street) to raise money to help the Ukrainian people. The event is co-presented by KlezCalifornia.

The first 100 people to donate $50 or more to one of the three organizations listed below will be able to attend. Donations to acquire tickets must be made by going to jubileeklezmer.com, and then selecting the charity of one’s choice on that platform. No external donations to those charities will be accepted for ticket purchase. Then Email a screenshot or photo of your donation receipt with subject line “Concert for Ukraine.” The event’s presenters will email your ticket/s to you. Please include:

• Your name
• Your phone number
• Copy of your donation receipt (at least $50 for each attendee)
• How many people will attending

Please go to jubileeklezmer.com to see if tickets are still available. Since sponsors anticipate a sellout, please secure your ticket in advance, as they don’t expect any to be available at the door. If the event is sold out, you are still able to help the Ukrainian people by donating to the following organizations:

International Rescue Committee: Over 3.5 million refugees have been forced to flee Ukraine. The IRC is on the ground in Poland supporting displaced children and families with vital supplies.

Global Giving’s Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund is funding over 20 relief organizations, all with projects currently active in Ukraine, providing blankets, food, medical supplies and emergency shelters.

World Central Kitchen’s world-class chefs are providing hot cooked meals on the ground to refugees as they flee from Ukraine and after they have arrived in places of refuge, such as Poland, Romania and Moldova.

At the event you will be able to acquire beautiful garments and wares from Ukraine, and photos and paintings by some amazing local artists by donation. All proceeds will go to benefit Ukraine.

Attendees must be fully vaccinated (that means 3 shots). Please bring a picture ID and proof of full vaccination. A face covering is required for entry and must be worn during the concert. We ask that you wear an N95 or KN95 mask, or a surgical mask which covers nose and mouth, and socially distance to the extent possible. Gaiters and bandanas are not acceptable.

NOTE: Many thanks to Nic Squirrell who is allowing Jubilee Klezmer to use her Peace for Ukraine design and donating income from the design to UNICEF.
