The Yiddish Singing Society hosts a weekly online session of traditional Yiddish folk singing, led by Yiddish songwriter Josh Waletzky, who is based in New York City. Meets every Tuesday, 5-6:15pm PT to learn and sing Yiddish songs the way they used to be sung before radio and television.
Open to all levels of Yiddish fluency and musical training, whether you’re a novice or an opera diva. Yiddish lyrics are provided in transliteration and with the alef-beys, as well as a translation. The group sings Yiddish songs of all genres, and welcomes song requests and contributions from its participants.
