Zingeray, with Sharon Bernstein, Cindy Paley, Jane Peppler, and Lorin Sklamberg

You are invited to the 4th Zingeray of Yiddish songs, a presentation and singalong of Yiddish songs, sponsored by The Jewish Folk Chorus of San Francisco. The four lead singers are:

• Cantor Sharon Bernstein  – Singer, pianist, composer, researcher and international performer of Yiddish and Jewish music. Sharon is Cantor of Congregation Sha’ar Zahav in San Francisco.

• Cindy Paley – Acclaimed national and international performer and recording artist of Yiddish music. For decades, Cindy has been a music educator and is cantorial soloist at Lev Eisha in LA and the Neshama Minyan at Valley Beth Shalom in Encino, CA.

• Jane Peppler – Researcher, performer and archivist of the forgotten heritage of Yiddish popular song of the interwar era and the vanished Yiddish cabaret of Poland, as well as pre-Holocaust Yiddish theater music. Jane is also the leading source and reviver of the “Yiddish Penny Songs” of the Ragtime era.

• Lorin Sklamberg – Lead singer and multi-instrumentalist of the beloved Grammy-winning Klezmatics since their founding in the mid-‘80’s. Lorin continues to be a tireless leading exponent of Yiddish and traditional Jewish song worldwide, and currently serves as Sound Archivist at the YIVO Institute for Jewish Research.       Adam Berry photo
