One Market Restaurant
Like its counterpart Mark ’n Mike’s, One Market remains true to its owner’s Jewish roots. Opened in 1993 by Michael Dellar and James Beard award-winning chef Bradley Ogden, One Market has persisted for over 30 years as a classic San Francisco restaurant. Its menu contains Ashkenazi mainstays: latkes, matzo ball soup, pastrami reubens, brisket. It now hosts Mark ’n Mike’s New York-style delicatessen as a pop-up within the restaurant.
Per The J, head chef Michael Dellar crafts his dishes in his Jewish mother’s legacy: “Raised in Los Angeles, he said his mother was both a great cook and entertainer, the type to put doilies beneath the water glasses. She cooked all types of food and was equally adept making Jewish brisket or not-Jewish prime rib, he said.”
